One Year in Our Home: My Favorite Amazon Home Finds We Actually Own & Love

A collage of various home furnishings including a beige sectional sofa, a wooden bench with cushions, two upholstered bar stools, a wooden coffee table, a modern desk with dual monitors, a decorative table with a vase, and an electric fireplace, featuring the text 'Amazon Home Favorites' in a stylish font.

It's officially been one year since we moved into our home, which honestly feels a little crazy to say. Over the past year, we’ve slowly turned an empty house into a space that actually feels like us — warm, cozy, neutral, a little modern, and very lived-in.

And somewhere along the way, I realized just how many of our favorite pieces came from Amazon. 😂

I’m always a little skeptical of those giant “Amazon home favorites” lists because sometimes it feels like everything is a favorite. So for this post, I wanted to do something a little different.

These are all pieces that are actually in our house right now. We’ve lived with them, styled around them, and incorporated them into our everyday spaces. From our living room furniture to the kitchen, breakfast nook, and my home office, these are the Amazon home finds that genuinely made the cut.

Consider this my one-year-later Amazon home recap — and the pieces I’d recommend if you’re decorating your own space. You can shop the Amazon storefront with all of the items mentioned here!

Our Amazon Living Room Favorites

Our living room has probably changed more than any other room in the house. I wanted it to feel cozy and comfortable without losing that clean, elevated look, so I ended up mixing warm walnut tones, creamy neutrals, marble, and a few more traditional pieces.

Oversized Modular Cloud Sectional

Lounge area featuring a light beige sectional sofa with plush cushions and a matching ottoman, situated on a light area rug in a bright room with natural light pouring in through large windows.

Shop the sectional → Modular Cloud Sectional

Probably the biggest Amazon purchase in this roundup is our oversized modular sectional.

I wanted a couch that actually felt like somewhere you could curl up and spend an entire Sunday — not just something that looked pretty in photos. This one has that oversized, cloud-couch look that I love, and the neutral khaki color works so well with the rest of our home.

The modular design was also a huge selling point for me because it gives you more flexibility when arranging the room. Ours has plenty of seating, plus the ottoman gives us even more space to lounge.

If you love the oversized, cozy sectional look but still want something neutral enough to style around, this is such a good option.

Why I love it:
Oversized seating, removable cushion covers, modular pieces, storage ottomans, and a really pretty neutral color.

Walnut Round Coffee Table

A round wooden coffee table with a textured surface, featuring a lit candle, a stacked book, and a vase of dried flowers. The setting is bright and cozy, with a plant and a light-colored sofa in the background.

Shop the coffee table → Walnut Coffee Table

This coffee table might be one of my favorite furniture finds in the entire house.

I absolutely love incorporating darker walnut tones into an otherwise light and neutral space because they add so much warmth and contrast. The rounded shape also softens the room compared to another large rectangular piece of furniture.

Ours is the 31.5-inch walnut version, and the simple mid-century-inspired design works with so many different decor styles.

Add a vase, a candle, and a stack of coffee-table books and it immediately looks styled without needing much else.

Why I love it:
The rich walnut color, rounded shape, substantial look, and the fact that it makes the room feel warmer without overpowering it.

White Marble & Walnut Side Table

A modern side table with a round marble top and a tapered wooden base.

Shop the side table → Marble Side Table

If you’ve seen photos of our house, you already know I love mixing different textures and materials.

This little round side table combines a white marble top with a walnut pedestal base, which basically checks every box for me.

It feels a little more elevated than a basic end table, but it’s still neutral enough to work next to almost anything. The natural stone also means every tabletop has slightly different veining, which gives it a much more expensive look.

This is one of those pieces that can easily move around your home too — living room, bedroom, reading nook, guest room — wherever you need a small accent table.

Why I love it:
Marble + walnut is such a good combination, and the pedestal design feels really clean and modern.

White Electric Fireplace & Mantel

A modern electric fireplace with a white mantel, featuring realistic flame effects, surrounded by decorative items like a plant, books, and figurines, set in a cozy living room.

Shop the fireplace → 65 Inch Fireplace

One of the best ways we’ve made our house feel cozier is our electric fireplace.

Ours is the 65-inch white mantel style with a 36-inch electric fireplace insert, and it gives you the look of a built-in fireplace without actually having to renovate your house.

The white surround blends nicely into the room, while the fireplace itself adds that cozy glow that makes everything feel warmer — especially during fall and Christmas.

It also has multiple flame colors, a remote, touchscreen controls, a timer, and a heater built in.

If you have a blank wall that you’re struggling to decorate, something like this can completely anchor the space.

Why I love it:
It makes the room feel instantly cozier and gives you a substantial focal point without needing a permanent built-in fireplace.

nuLOOM Washable Beige Area Rug

A cozy living room featuring a brown leather sofa with patterned cushions, a wooden coffee table, a decorative horse figurine on a side table, a floor lamp, and a light-colored patterned area rug on hardwood flooring.

Shop the rug → Washable Rug

A neutral rug is one of those pieces that can completely pull a room together.

We have the nuLOOM SpinClean washable area rug in the Deadra Beige pattern, and I love how subtle the design is. There’s enough variation in it to add some texture and interest, but it doesn’t compete with the rest of the room.

The low-profile design also makes it easy to layer furniture over it.

And anything labeled washable immediately gets bonus points in a house where things are actually being lived on.

The exact version shown on Amazon is currently unavailable, so definitely check the listing for updated sizes/colors or similar nuLOOM options if this specific one isn’t back in stock.

Why I love it:
Neutral colors, subtle pattern, washable construction, and it works with basically everything.

Kitchen & Dining Favorites

The kitchen is one of those places where I wanted the furniture to be beautiful but also genuinely functional. These two pieces gave us both.

Ivory Swivel Counter-Height Barstools

Two elegant upholstered bar stools with a light beige fabric and black wooden legs, placed on a light flooring background.

Shop the barstools → Linen Ivory Swivel Barstools

These barstools are such a pretty way to soften a kitchen island.

We have the KISLOT 26-inch counter-height swivel stools in ivory, and I love that they feel more like little accent chairs than traditional barstools.

The upholstered backs make them look much more comfortable and elevated, while the darker wood legs add contrast against the ivory fabric.

And yes — they swivel, which is one of those features you don’t necessarily think you need until you have it.

They come as a set of two and are designed for counter-height islands, so just make sure you measure your counter before ordering.

Why I love them:
They’re comfortable-looking, neutral, elevated, and the swivel base makes them practical for everyday use.

Our Breakfast Nook

L-Shaped Breakfast Nook Storage Bench

A wooden corner bench with a ribbed design and plush beige cushions, placed in a bright, minimalist room.

Shop the breakfast nook → Oak L-Shaped Nook Bench

This might be one of the cutest pieces on the entire list.

Our breakfast nook bench has a natural fluted-wood look with an L-shaped design, upholstered cushions, and hidden storage underneath.

I’m a huge fan of furniture that does more than one thing, especially when you’re trying to make the most of a corner.

Instead of adding several separate dining chairs, an L-shaped bench gives you that cozy built-in breakfast-nook feel while still giving you extra storage.

The fluted detail also makes it look much more custom than you would expect from something ordered online.

Why I love it:
Hidden storage, extra seating, a warm wood tone, and that cozy built-in breakfast-nook look without actually installing a built-in.

Home Office Favorite

FEZIBO Electric Standing Desk

A modern wooden desk with a light oak finish and white adjustable legs, set against a neutral background.

Shop the standing desk → Standing Desk

Considering how much time I spend on a computer between finance, content creation, blogging, travel planning, and everything else I somehow decide to take on, having a functional workspace is non-negotiable.

We have the FEZIBO 48 x 24-inch electric standing desk in maple, and I love that you can easily switch between sitting and standing throughout the day.

It also has customizable memory presets, so you can save your preferred heights rather than adjusting it manually every time.

The maple top keeps it feeling lighter and more homey than a traditional office desk, which was important to me because I still wanted my office to fit with the overall style of the house.

For around a home office, this is one of those purchases that makes a lot of sense if you’re at a desk for hours every day.

Why I love it:
Electric height adjustment, memory settings, plenty of workspace, and a simple neutral design.

The Amazon Home Finds I’d Recommend After One Year

One year into living here, I think I’ve finally learned that decorating a house is definitely a marathon, not a sprint.

There were so many times when I wanted a room to feel “finished” immediately, but some of my favorite spaces came together because we slowly added pieces that we genuinely liked rather than buying everything at once.

And clearly… Amazon has played a pretty big role. 😂

What I love most about these finds is that they don’t necessarily look like Amazon furniture. Mixing them with other pieces, different textures, artwork, vintage-inspired decor, and things we already owned has helped our home feel much more collected and personal.

If I had to narrow this entire list down to my biggest favorites, the walnut coffee table, marble side table, breakfast nook bench, sectional, and fireplace are probably the pieces that made the biggest visual difference in our home.

But after a full year here, every item on this list has earned its spot.

I’ll definitely keep updating this post as we continue working on the house because — knowing me — I’m nowhere near done. 🤎
