A Winter Wonderland Adventure to Break in The New Year: Exploring Nova Scotia and Boston
Hey there, fellow adventurers! Get ready to pack your bags and join me on an exhilarating journey through the stunning landscapes and vibrant cities of Nova Scotia and beyond. From charming coastal villages to bustling urban centers, these itineraries promise excitement, relaxation, and unforgettable memories at every turn. Every year John and I go on a couple’s trip with Bryana and Blayne. This year, we chose a cold winter trip for New Year's. Let’s get right to it!
Day 1: Touchdown in Halifax
We kick off our adventure with a smooth flight aboard Air Canada, soaring through the clouds to land in the picturesque city of Halifax. This was our first time flying Air Canada, and we had a wonderful experience. The staff was kind, the plane was updated and clean, the seats were comfy, and the flight went by quickly.
After touching down at YHZ airport, we make our way to The Prince George Hotel, our luxurious home base for the next few days. Its elegant accommodations and central location make it the perfect place to unwind and recharge after our travels. Once settling into our room, we walked down the main street to find dinner and stumbled upon a cute brewery. We got two beer flights (we got to try some of the local beers which were so cool/fun), I had nachos and John got a taco bowl.
Day 2: Exploring Halifax
With a full day ahead of us, we set out to explore the vibrant streets of Halifax. From charming boutiques to cozy cafes, there's no shortage of treasures to discover as we wander through the city. We soak up the lively atmosphere, snapping photos of historic landmarks and indulging in delicious local cuisine along the way.
Day 3: Road Trip to Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg
Rise and shine, adventurers! Today, we hit the open road as we embark on an epic road trip along Nova Scotia's stunning coastline. We grabbed our rental car from the Halifax train station bright and early at 8 am. We stopped at Tim Hortons for breakfast because we were all virgins. We grabbed so many yummy breakfast meals and of course, had to try their coffee. Our journey to iconic destinations like Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg was filled with beautiful scenery, soaking in breathtaking views of rugged cliffs and charming fishing villages along the way.
Peggy’s Cove was one of the best experiences I have ever had. It was layers and layers of beautiful natural stone and rock surrounded by the waves of the Canadian coast. In the center was the lighthouse. We took some of the most beautiful photos. After a day of exploration, we indulge in a mouthwatering dinner at Gio, the hotel restaurant, before resting our heads for the night.
Day 4: Farewell to Halifax, Hello to Boston
As our time in Halifax ends, we are sad to leave this charming city and go to the airport. With fond memories in our hearts, we board our flight to Boston, eager to continue our adventure in the streets of Beantown.
Day 5: Boston Bound
From historic landmarks to hidden gems, Boston offers endless opportunities for adventure. We started by grabbing a rental car and heading out on our journey to Cape Cod. All I have to say Is that John and I WILL be booking a beach week in Cape Cod. It was stunning. We passed through so many cute beach towns and all I wanted to do was lay out by the ocean and tan. Since we visited out of season, most of the stores were closed. We walked around the Cape and then we grabbed dinner on the water. On our way to Cape, we stopped and grabbed Marylou’s coffee and it was AMAZING. The best coffee I have ever had. I was so overwhelmed I just told the barista to make me her fav. I had a Medium-sized Funny Bone. It was a 10/10 I can’t wait to go back to Mass so I can have this coffee again.
Day 6:
We kick off our day with a delicious breakfast at Buttermilk & Bourbon before hitting the city. Afterward, we explored the city's iconic sights with our GoCity pass and shopped until we dropped on Back Bay, before winding down with a cozy dinner at Union Oyster House. This was a delicious meal. We all had salads and seafood.
Day 6: New Year's Eve Extravaganza
As the clock ticks down to midnight, we usher in the New Year in style with a day of exploration and celebration. From a visit to the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum to a decadent dinner at Coquette, we toast to new beginnings and unforgettable adventures ahead.
Day 7: A Day of Leisure
With no set plans on the agenda, we take advantage of our final day in Boston to soak up the city's vibrant energy. From strolls through Back Bay to browsing the shelves at the Boston Public Library, we savor every moment of our time in this bustling metropolis.
Day 8: Homeward Bound
With hearts full of memories and suitcases packed with souvenirs, we bid farewell to Boston and board our flight back to Tampa. As we soar through the skies with Delta, we reflect on the incredible experiences shared and the bonds forged on this unforgettable journey. There was no better way to ring in the new year. I love every couple's trip we go on with Bre and Blayne. We ended the trip with a visit to the Boston Observation Deck using our GoCity passes. This was an incredible experience.
Until next time, adventurers! I enjoyed this trip more than I could have ever expected—a week filled with so much laughter, joy, and quality time with my favorite people.
Cheers to the next chapter of our adventures! 🌟🌎✈️
